Dress Code

Glenview College Preparatory High School requires students to wear uniforms.

Regular School Days (Mon–Thu)

Students must wear Glenview polo shirts as part of the school uniform · dress pants must be black, blue or khaki shorts/pants/skirt, or school plaid skirts · NO jeans are permitted Monday–Thursday.

Dress Down Days (Every Friday)

Students may wear jeans (with NO holes) with a GCP T-shirt, college T-shirt, GCP club/sport shirt or GCP polo · only jeans, dress pants, shorts, or skirts in black, blue, khaki or the school plaid — no athletic shorts, sweats, etc.

Additional Requirements

  • Uniform shirts and apparel must be ordered through Glenview’s office
  • Failure to wear the required uniform apparel will result in the student being sent home and not being able to attend class
  • Student I.D. cards must be worn on a lanyard around the neck at all times at school and school functions — failure may result in campus community service; lost I.D.s and lanyards are re-purchased from the office
  • No hats, bandannas, hair nets, sweatshirt hoods, or do-rags
  • Black and white shoe laces only · no slippers · no sunglasses in the building
  • Undergarments must NOT be visible · no midriffs showing · no sagging pants
  • Shorts or skirts must extend below the fingertips when arms are placed at the side
  • Any jewelry, belts, chains, purse, wristbands or anything deemed by administration a safety hazard or inappropriate will not be permitted

Why School Uniforms?

Educators and experts who are pro-school-uniform believe uniforms contribute positively to students’ behavior: students feel more professional and behave accordingly, and with everyone in regulation uniforms there is less focus on fashion in the classroom and more focus on learning.
