Attendance
School Calendar. During each block, the student is enrolled in a minimum of four courses. Each course meets five days a week. Courses Monday through Thursday are 90 minutes each. GCP will have eleven Early Release Days every Friday when courses are 60 minutes each. At the end of the block, earned credits for core and elective courses are applied to the transcript.
Attendance is critical to the learning environment and success at GCP. We maintain a strict attendance policy so that students will be able to take full advantage of the opportunities provided to them. All GCP students are expected to be regular and punctual in their attendance. Excessive tardiness or a pattern of unexcused absences will be cause for administrative withdrawal from GCP.
Transportation to and from school is the responsibility of the student; a missed bus, missed or late ride, or car trouble does not qualify as an excused absence or tardy.

Attendance Policy
Attendance is mandatory. During a 45 day quarter, a student can accumulate no more than 3 absences. Once a student exceeds 3 absences in a class during a 45 day period, a final grade of "F" will be received for that class. If a student misses more than ten unexcused days of classes, then she/he is dropped from school and must re-enroll in Glenview College Preparatory.
Students may not be signed out early during the last week of a quarter. This is the time when final exams/projects are distributed and completed. Missing class or leaving early can jeopardize a student's ability to receive a passing grade in a course.
If an absence should occur, please call the school (602-663-8606) and provide the following:
*Absences will only be excused within 24 hours. After 24 hours has passed the absence will not be excused.
